Andrew Smith is the Director of the Bureau of Consumer Protection at the Federal Trade Commission. Previously, he was a Partner at the Covington & Burling law firm and the Morrison Foerster law firm in Washington, DC. Mr. Smith also has served in senior policy-making and supervisory positions at the FTC and the Securities and Exchange Commission, and is a former Chair of the American Bar Association’s Consumer Financial Services Committee.
