David Stein assists clients on regulatory and compliance matters involving credit reporting, financial privacy, retail payments, consumer credit, fair lending, deposit products, and UDAAP. He regularly advises clients on issues at the intersection between established legal requirements and cutting-edge financial innovations, such as artificial intelligence, data aggregation, alternative data, blockchain, and online/mobile banking.
Previously, Mr. Stein served as a senior regulatory lawyer at the Federal Reserve Board and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. During his government service, he managed teams of attorneys and either led or played a key role in developing numerous regulations and regulatory policy across core areas of consumer financial protection.
