Jonathan D. Glater

Jonathan D. Glater is a Professor of Law and Associate Dean for Teaching at the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law, where he is a co-director (with Dalié Jiménez, also an ACCFSL Fellow) of the Student Loan Law Initiative and a faculty director of the Center for Consumer Law and Economic Justice. His research and writing has focused on access to higher education, student debt, and equity in education.

Before entering the legal academy, Professor Glater spent nearly a decade as a reporter at The New York Times, where he wrote variously about law, legal education, and the legal profession, as well as accounting and higher education finance.

A native of Boston, Mass., Professor Glater received his B.A. in economics from Swarthmore College, and his J.D. and M.A. in international relations both from Yale.
