Russell Schrader is the General Counsel and Chief Privacy Officer of Commerce Signals, Inc. The start-up, based in the Bay Area and Charlotte, specializes in secure data collaboration among businesses. He was a Senior Vice President and the first-ever Chief Privacy Officer of Visa Inc.
Mr. Schrader holds a J.D. from Duke University, an MBA in finance from New York University and a B.A. from Wake Forest University. He is a member of the Department of Homeland Security Data Privacy and Integrity Advisory Committee, and a former member of the Federal Reserve Board's Consumer Advisory Committee and the board of directors of the Council of Better Business Bureaus.
Prior to Visa, Mr. Schrader headed the National Consumer group in the Legal Department of Chase in New York City. He was responsible for legal services to the mortgage, auto, home equity, and unsecured lending businesses. He was also general counsel to one of Chase's regional banks as well, providing legal services to the Eastern Caribbean, Panama and South America consumer banks.
