LARRY PLATT is a partner in the Washington, D.C. office of Mayer
Brown LLP and concentrates his legal practice in the law of consumer
credit, particularly with respect to residential mortgage lending.
His transactional practice includes negotiating purchases and
sales of mortgage companies and mortgage-related assets; joint
ventures; commercial credit agreements; and services agreements.
In addition, Mr. Platt counsels clients on federal and state
consumer credit laws, defends clients in government enforcement actions,
and represents clients in governmental public policy matters.
Mr. Platt is consistently ranked by Chambers USA and in 2020,
Mr. Platt again was listed under Financial Services Regulation:
Consumer Finance (Compliance) (Star Individuals). Mr. Platt
was listed in the 2012-2020 Best Lawyers in America guides
in the area of banking and finance law. He also is a Fellow
of the American College of Consumer Financial Service Lawyers.
Larry presently is an Adjunct Law Professor at Georgetown
University Law Center, teaching Advanced Legal Writing: Transactional
Practice. He received his J.D. from George Washington
University in 1982 and his B.A. from University of Pittsburgh
in 1976.
